What Football Team Do You Support?

I support Middlesbrough what about you?

Ah, Middlesbrough. Tiresome team that I've always wanted to be relegated until this season when I'd like to see them do well.

Southgate is putting together a proper footballing squad and, as a Spurs fan, I'm a big fan of the mighty Mido. When fit, he's 12-15 goals and half a dozen assists per season.

Tuncay and Downing are also good.

But for me, of course, I always want to see Tottenham do the business.

I support Arsenal......its fun to watch arsenal playing....Arsenal were founded in 1886, though they won their first major trophies in the 1930s, with five League Championship titles and two FA Cups.During the past twenty years they have been  the  most successful clubs in English football....I admire Arsenal.....

It's Fulham all the way for me. We're going to be comfortably mid table this term and Zamora is actually looking quite the player.

I too admire Arsenal like khassa- but I've always been behind ManU in the EPL . Real Madrid are my favorites in Spain . Gonna be rooting for them all the way this season !!

Everyone supports a southern team. 1 Spurs, 1 Fulham and 2 Arsenal.

Top 10 finish for boro and I would be very happy.

Well, I'm a huge Man United fan.  I want to see us win the league, champions league and fa cup... and if really want to be greedy, the carling cup too...

Chicago Fire, I know it's the childlike MLS but I'm an American.  I can appreciate the EPL as great football, but I'm not a bandwagon "euro-snob."  Fire till I die.

Its easy to put up favourites for the Italian and Spanish leagues...quite frankly there isn't enough bite in the lower teams ! Its so often just a 3-horse race in both Spain and Italy..

I had a refreshing encounter the other day in Washington DC, while eatting at Elephant and Castle I met a younger british guy who was waiting there.  He was from Ipswich and a fan of the team.  I love meeting people who aren't just for one of the big 4 in England, and American's are the worst at that.

Agreed, mwbixier...it's always good to see people supporting their local team.

I supported mine (Wimbledon) for a number of years until they moved to Milton Keynes and became, god help us, the MK Dons. I figured that gave me the right to support any other London team I fancied, so went for Spurs as I spent a lot of time around Tottenham and they play attractive, passing football.

I now live in Medway, but can't bring myself to support Gillingham - they're rubbish. I do, however, own a part of what used to be Gravesend and Northfleet FC and are now called Ebbsfleet...they're fairly local.

I'm just really jealous that America doesn't have the soccer/football cutlure of England with all the different leagues and stuff.  If you looked at baseball here (we have MLS, AAA, AA and A), you'd never see anybody cheering hardcore for a non-MLB team.  But in England you guys go nuts for the local team no matter the league, I think it's awesome.

I enjoy watching any team that is based out of Brazil.  I have never seen a football game featuring a Brazilian team that was anything other than incredibly exciting.

I was a big fan of ManU for the longest time, but I've been out of the scene for a while.  Is it lame for an American to like Manchester United, is that too lame?  While I don't watch the games enough to know the different teams usually, I know I often like to watch brazilian football.  I hadn't gotten into it until I found out one of my brazilian buddies who was in the US as an international student was actually previously on one of the teams.  Don't ask me which one, I don't recall, but man, his loyalty was something else.  That was one fellow I did NOT want to cross with any kind of disagreement about his team.  They take their team loyalty EXTREMELY seriously.   Now if I could only remember which team he played for.
