| Just read all that stuff Mike Newell said about that female assistant ref. All I can say is what a complete wanker. The end. | ||

Never a truer word was said, although maybe some slightly more philosophical ones...
Bet his wife was happy about the comments, if he has one. |

When they interviewed Luton's Chairman, he looked less than impressed. Especially as Newell also said that the Chairman had "messed everything up" since he took over.
Thing is, Newell's a great manager and is doing good things for Luton, so he might keep his job. But I say: sack the tosser. |

| Well, there's a surprise. He kept his job. He's apologised - for all that's worth - and has been given a spanking by the board. I think that's what the statement said : you can read it here | ||

I read that the Luton board couldnt afford to sack Newell because then they would have to pay off the remainder of his contract, somthing in the region of £1.4 million (allegedly).
Shocking state of affairs. |

Why doesn't that surprise me. My dad once told me 'if your principles can be compromised by money, you never had any principles in the first place'.
This applies to the Luton board. Gutless fools. |

blowingbubbles makes a good point. Also Newell is actually a good manager. And he does at least have the courage to say what he believes. Even if there are medieval pimps with more respect for women than him.
Don't forget that he was the guy that brought the latest round of bung investigations into the open. |
