It's often said by British journalists that the Premiership is the best or most exciting league in the world. Considering how many times this is repeated by pundits, former footballers, journalists, your mate down the pub, it is almost taken as a holy truth.
Thing is though - is it true. I would expect not. For my money, La Liga is the the most exciting, best league in the world. The Premiership looks like a bunch of lower league clumpers by comparison. |

Well, the better teams in La Liga are for sure or equal if not better quality, but if you have the misfortune of seeing some of the matches such as Ath Madrid v Zaragoza, the quality isnt really that much better.
I would think that it would have to be between the Premiership and La Liga, the others dont really compare. Serie A... Italian, it speaks for itself, German and French Football is all about the top 3 or 4 teams.. who arent even so great at Euro level anymore, with the exception of Lyon perhaps. The rest of the European leagues are just insignificant and leagues out of Europe are bent beyond belief (South American and Asian in particular) |

German and French Football is all about the top 3 or 4 teams But so is English football. I like to watch quick, passing football from teams that don't hoof it up the pitch like they're playing for the pub team. That's why I'm a Spurs fan. And that's why La Liga is probably the best. Even Real Zaragoza don't play as much long ball as, say, Liverpool or even Chelsea. |

| If you want a team with quick passing just have a look at Arsenal. Their passing is almost perfect and the skill and speed between each pass is great. they have great flair about them which makes them so entertaining to watch. This makes the premiership a lot better. | ||

| La Liga? Not a chance. Unless it's one of the top teams playing it looks like a second division match! | ||

I wouldn't go to the extent of saying that...La Liga is great but its not nearly as entertaining and competitive as the Premier League. Italian and Spanish leagues are more technical and slower in their gameplay while the EPL is much faster.. |

Oh, c'mon, MwBixler, nothing in La Liga compared to the utter tedium of watching Bolton playing Derby last season. That really was lower league football.
Even the rubbish teams in La Liga know how to pass the ball around a bit. |

| That's true, I do like their style, but I'm saying that there is a huge drop in talent from those top teams to the rest of league. Good point with the Bolton/Derby example, but that's why we have remote controls. | ||

| I think the premiership is the best. The kind of energy that revolves around the game in England is simply amazing. The premiership has the best of everything.la liga and Serie A come only later in the list. | ||

I can't believe nobody has mentioned the MLS in this thread But seriously, what South American (or North) league stands out in that part of the world?

| Well we are all entitled to our self-opinion. This is what we call fanaticism. Just go for the league which you think is the best. Make a stand! | ||
