| I think we'll start to see some clubs start to go under when the banks call in their loans. It's already happening in the lower leagues in English football, but I can see it happening in the Premiership. | ||

| During the Great Depression, a number of professional sports teams saw their attendance increase. When the economy is bad, people look for escapism. So, it may not affect professional soccer teams significantly. | ||

When I worked for a sports news company, it was considered an insult to call european football 'soccer'. We US people have it all backwards, lol.
But yeah, with a recession, sports events actually do pretty well. A form of escapism, definitely. ~Lissa |
