Speaking in a brief conference recently , Real Madrid coach Bernd Schuster started by talking about Raúl and the need for the Spaniard to start scoring goals.

"I would have liked him to play further upfront against Santander, but he always likes to work for the team, not just by getting goals."

"He is a forward though who needs to score goals and whilst the other work is not valued as it should be sometimes we are not going to bring him back because he needs goals," he reiterated.

Raul has only been intermittently effective for years. I think his talent peaked early and he is far from the player he was.

That's a bad spot to be in for Raul.  At a team like R.M. you need to make an impact or they'll pay an outrageous amont to bring in somebody who will... can we just imagine what that place would be like with Ronaldo??? hmmmm scary
