Wigan Athletic v Everton Preview

January 29, 2010   |   Written by : Jim Haines

Vladimir Stojkovic continues in goal for Roberto Martinez’ Wigan Athletic against an Everton side likely to remain unchanged from the one that beat Sunderland 2-0 last time out.

While playmaker Mikel Arteta and striker VIctor Anichebe have both returned from long enforced absences, Everton boss David Moyes will not risk starting either player until they are fully fit.

This means that Cahill, Donovan and Saha will all start.

While Joseph Yobo and striker Yakubu will have returned from the African Cup of Nations in time for this match, both are set for places on the bench.

Home side Wigan will be missing defender Mario Melchiot, who has a neck injury. The Dutchman is set to be replaced by new signing Gary Caldwell.

Jordi Gomez could come into contention for a place in midfield with Mohamed Diame dropping to the bench.

James McCarthy looks set to keep his place in a five man midfield, behind lone striker Hugo Rodallega.

KICK-OFF: SATURDAY JANUARY 30th 15:00 GMT
