West Ham vs Blackburn Preview
January 29, 2010 | Written by : Jim Haines
Carlton Cole could make his first start in over two months for West Ham United, while Christopher Samba returns for Sam Allardyce’s Blackburn Rovers.
Samba was missing in midweek through suspension but is set to return to a starting place in the Rovers defence in place of Gael Givet.
Out, however, is fellow defender Lars Jacobsen, who has a thigh injury.
Elsewhere, Blackburn boss Sam Allardyce could bring Jason Roberts back into the starting line-up to partner Nikola Kalinic in a more traditional 4-4-2 formation.
Home side West Ham United will be missing striker Guillermo Franco and midfielder Keiron Dyer, along with Zavon Hines and Luis Boa Morte.
Midfielder Scott Parker will face a late fitness test on a hamstring injury but West Ham boss Gianfranco Zola is hopeful the player will be fit.
The size of the West Ham squad means that, Carlton Cole aside, there will be few additional changes from the team that drew 1-1 with Portsmouth earlier in the week.
