Aston Villa vs Arsenal Preview
January 27, 2010 | Written by : Jim Haines
Bacary Sagna is back in contention for Arsene Wenger’s Arsenal, while Stephen Warnock is out for Aston Villa.
Warnock picked up a knock in Villa’s FA Cup Tie and is set to be replaced by Luke Young.
Also out for Martin O’Neill’s side are striker John Carew, who has a knee injury, and midfielder Nigel Reo-Coker. Fellow midfielder Stillyan Petrov is a doubt with an achilles problem, so Steve Sidwell could start against Arsenal.
England international Emile Heskey is set to partner Gabby Agbonlahor in attack.
Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger will start the fit again Bacary Sagna at left back, with the rested Thomas Vermaelen, William Gallas and Gael Clichy all returning to the back four.
The continuing absence of NIcklas Bendtner and Robin Van Persie means Eduardo will start, while Denilson gets another chance to impress as Alex Song is still on Africa Cup of Nations duty.
