Chelsea vs Man Utd Preview

November 8, 2009   |   Written by : Jim Haines

Jose Bosingwa is Chelsea’s only injury absentee for the visit of a Man United side who will welcome central defender Nemanjca Vidic back into the starting eleven.

Utd defender Vidic had missed the last two matches with a calf strain, but has been in full training and is set to start against the league leaders.

Also back is Dimitar Berbatov who missed the midweek Champions League tie with a knock.

However, Rio Ferdinand is still out and his place is likely to be taken by Johnny Evans.

With Gary Neville suspended, John O’Shea looks set to start at right back with Darren Fletcher returning to provide some much needed steel in the heart of midfield.

With winger Yuri Zhirkov and central midfielder Jon Obi Mikel fit again, Chelsea boss Carlo Ancelotti has a virtually fully fit squad to call upon.

It looks likely that Joe Cole will have to settle for a place on the bench, with Deco starting alongside Essien, Lampard and Ballack in midfield.

Having been rested for Chelsea’s Champions League match, Nicolas Anelka will return to partner the in-form Didier Drogba in attack.
