OK, so it’ s not football but everyone likes a punt on the Grand National. So we present our 2009 Grand National preview, plus the latest odds and betting offers available from the bookies.
GRAND NATIONAL 2009 PREVIEW
Experienced horse racing bettors will tell you - the Grand National is a race for experienced horses. It’s a tough, tough race and is generally won by horses over 8 years old.
Right now, the latest odds suggest that My Will (best price is 8/1 at William Hill) is the favourite. At nine years old and a consistent winner, this is a good bet. However, the horse is heavily handicapped, so an each way bet might be the way to go.
Other contenders include last year’s winner Comply or Die. Again heavily handicapped after winning last time out, this is a consistent performer and worth back.
A better bet, however, might be Rambling Minster. At eleven years old, this horse is the perfect age to win the 2009 Grand National and victories at Cheltenham on New Years Day and the Blue Square Gold Cup at Haydock back this up.
