March 3rd Premiership Betting Tips
March 3, 2009 | Written by : Nick Webb
Only three Premiership football matches are taking place this evening, but with Liverpool at home to Sunderland and West Brom at home to Arsenal, there are some good bets to be had.
WEST BROM vs ARSENAL BETTING TIPS AND ODDS
Arsenal can’t seem to score at the moment, so who better to play than West Brom who have conceded a whopping 24 goals at home already this season.
Because of West Brom boss Tony Mowbray’s insistence on playing passing football, there is no way this match is going to end in a 0-0 draw.
There will be goals and most of them will come from Arsenal. Their 4-0 demolition of Cardiff City in the FA Cup is a more realistic barometer for this match than the recent 0-0 against Fulham.
I like Arsenal to win this comfortably, so will take Evens on the Over/Under 2.5 goals market at Stan James.
I also like Robin Van Persie to score first for his team at 13/5 at Paddy Power .
LIVERPOOL Vs SUNDERLAND BETTING TIPS AND ODDS
Devoid of Fernando Torres, Liverpool have pretty much no firepower and their recent home record suggests that another disappointing draw is on the cards for Rafa Benitez’ men.
However, I think there may well be a surprise sprung here, with Rick Sbragia’s Sunderland coming away with a win.
I freely admit it’s a bit risky as some of Sunderland’s key players - Kenwyne Jones, Djibril Cisse and Steed Malbranque are only just returning from injury, but I’m looking more at who isn’t available for Liverpool.
No Torres means little goal threat, at least from the forwards. El Zhar and N’Gog are just not up to it.
Also out are full backs Daniel Agger and Alvaro Arbeloa, which could give Sunderland just the edge they need in this match.
Sunderland to win is a best price 17/2 at Bet365 . Click To Bet Or Register Now - New Customers Get Up To £100 in Free Bets.
