Tottenham vs Everton Match Preview
November 30, 2008 | Written by : Jim Haines
King and Jenas return for Harry Redknapp’s Tottenham, while Everton have injuries among three of their four strikers.
Everton’s Louis Saha and Victor Anichebe both have hamstring problems, while James Vaughan is having surgery on a cartilege problem and will be out until the new year.
This leaves Everton boss David Moyes with just one fully fit striker in Yakubu.
Also out for Everton are midfielder Steven Pienaar and defender Tony Hibbert. Leighton Baines may start and Moyes is also likely to revert to a 4-5-1 formation to compensate for the lack of fit strikers.
The home side will bring captain Ledley King back to the starting eleven after resting him for the UEFA Cup tie.
Also back in contention are Vedran Corluka and Roman Pavlyuchenko, both of whom were cup-tied for the midweek European match.
Pavlyuchenko may partner Darren Bent in attack, as playmakers Luka Modric and Giovani Dos Santos are both still out with injury.
