Robinho returns from an ankle injury for Manchester City, while Dimitar Berbatov could be back for Sir Alex Ferguson’s Manchester United side.
Berbatov had suffered a hamstring strain playing for Bulgaria but has been training and is hopeful of starting upfront for Manchester United.
Also back in contention is Gary Neville, who has overcome a groin strain and may start if Wes Brown sits this one out.
Park Ji Sung and Michael Carrick are likely to feature in midfield.
Manchester City boss Mark Hughes will be without left back Javier Garrido, who picked up a knock in the midweek UEFA Cup match. Michael Ball will deputise.
Pablo Zabaleta has recovered from a thigh injury and may start. Benjani is likely to partner Robinho in attack.
