Villa striker John Carew and defender Luke Young face late fitness tests, while Fulham have no new injury worries.

Fulham boss Roy Hodgson is likely to stick with the starting eleven that beat Tottenham and held Liverpool to a draw in recent weeks.

In form striker Andrew Johnson will partner Bobby Zamora upfront.

For Martin O’Neill’s Aston Villa, fitness tests will determine whether Norway international John Carew returns to partner Gabby Agbonlahor in attack.

Right back Luke Young will also return if he recovers sufficiently from a thigh injury.

Also back in contention for Aston Villa is defender Carlos Cuellar, who has recovered from a thigh injury of his own.
